The Ministry

Since 23 November 2007 the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries includes the Veterinary and Food Administration.

Main tasks of the ministry are:

• Agricultural policy
• Fisheries policy
• Nutrition
• Food- and veterinary inspection
• Animal health and animal welfare

The mission of Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries is to provide the framework for:

• A development and growth oriented food producing sector
• Responsible stewardship of the natural resources
• Food safety, consumer’s choice and healthy food habits

The Ministry includes:

• the Department
• the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration
• the Danish Plant Directory
• the Danish Food Industry Agency
• the Danish Directorate of Fisheries
